The French name refers to the 300-foot-high rock outcropping that is the central feature of this quiet park. The stairway to the top of the mound is now open from 6am to sunset. Users are restricted to the stairway to protect the natural area. Food, drinks, and pets are not allowed. Please be respectful of the park and other users while using the stairway. Native American petroglyphs and a wayside exhibit can also be viewed. Roche-A-Cri State Park's campground presents a very attractive and quiet setting. The campground is mostly shady with large trees. Pit toilets have lights at night. A Picnic Shelter is Available for Rental.
